Account of Expenditure and Income in Satavar(Nepali Yellow Satavar) farming

Before cultivating Shatavari or Satavar (Nepali yellow) one should understand the statistics of expenditure and income in cultivating. Due to being a multi - year crop, the cost of cultivating Shatavari is higher than that of the grain crop, but at the same time the profits are also multi-fold. Now a days, where there is no savings in grain like paddy and wheat crops, there ia manifold profit in the crop of Satavar. We have taken the following point into consideration while preparing statistics of Expenditure - Income :

1. The rate of seeds /Kg varies over time as per the demand in market.

2. Yield of crop depends upon soil fertility and climatic condition. We have considered yield on an average scenario.

3. Rate of processed dried shatavari roots/Kg depends upon the demand in Herbal market. It may vary from Rs 200/Kg to Rs 750/Kg. We have taken the current market price Rs 200/Kg as on date.

4. If you have your own land and don't depend upon labour then cost of cultivation will be minimised further accordingly.
